Pygmy animals are not naturally smaller than their larger brothers and sisters, they have just evolved this way. Pygmy species are usually in small environments where there is less food and fewer resources, such as water, to sustain large size, so they just adapt to the environment. Very Darwinian really. Adaptation and selection by the ability to match their surroundings. Anyway, the science of it aside, they are also very cute. This post has pix of pygmy animals that makes everyone say oooooo and ahhhhh.
