In Paris 2009, a new range of Diet Coke bottles designed by Nathalie Rykiel to celebrate Diet Coke’s 20th anniversary hit the shelves in January – with Rykiel following in the footsteps of Roberto Cavalli, who designed a bottle for the Italian market in 2008; Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, who designed a limited edition bottle for Diet Coke France in 2001; and Kenzo Takada in 2005. And the list goes on…here are a few.
Patricia Field, the stylist who gained fame as the stylist on the Sex and the City movie set, designed four different Diet Coke bottles for Coca Cola. Patrica says that: The designs represent diet Coke as a sexy, sassy brand perfectly compatible with todays woman. The gold bottle represent Career, the red one Passion, the pink stands for Love and the turquoise for Fashion.
In 1999 Coca-Cola limited edition design for the Coca-Cola Light bottle, styled by Natalye Rykiel, daughter of the talented end eclectic French stylist Sonia Rykiel. Rykiels creations mark the 20th anniversary of Coke Light and the 40th year of her mothers fashion house.
And in continuing with the theme of Stylizing Coke, fashion photographer Ellen von Unwerth designed a Coca-Cola Light bottle, prompting other of her peers to join in. Ellen von Unwerth’s bottles is pictured on the right. PopSop says a limited edition of 39,000 of the bottles will be sold at select fashion events. The other two bottles pictured above were designed by Zac Posen (left) and Manolo Blahnik (middle).
