The only thing worse than being pranked and falling for it, is getting it captured on video. And of course, the only thing worse than getting caught on video is having that video uploaded to You Tube, because then it gets on to hugely popular blogs like this one!

Flash mobs appeared around 2003 and have been something of a cult-phenomenon. The way it works is that a very large group of people show up somewhere unexpectedly and perform a stunt or activity on the spot, then when finished, continue on as if nothing has happened. Nobody at the location is aware of what is coming or what is going on. The idea has also been used by comedy shows – such as American-based Improv Everywhere – to create mob pranks, and has been extended as a guerrilla marketing concept for advertisers and promoters.
Whether it’s what we call things, how we use expressions or just in plain everyday conversation, sometimes you just have to wonder where some of those idioms actually came from. How is it that we save money inside a pig? Have you ever actually seen a cat or dog fall out of the sky when it rains? And just why is it that pie has to be humble anyway?
